Where Your Money Goes

The San Francisco and Marin Food Banks provide vital support to more than 225,000 people in our community who are struggling to make ends meet. This year, we'll distribute 45 million pounds of food, and more than half of it will be fresh fruit and vegetables direct from the farm.

For every $1 you donate, we can distribute $6 worth of food thanks to our volunteers, farming partners and food donors, and our ability to source quality food for pennies on the dollar.

Your support is so important right now because:

  • One in five children in San Francisco and Marin are at risk of going hungry.
  • During summer months, thousands of children lose access to school breakfast and lunch programs, a critical source of nutrition.
  • High unemployment and the rising cost of living keep pushing more families to seek help at our food pantries.
